Carolyn Drewry

Biography

Carolyn started playing ultimate halfway through her freshman year of college. That year, she was named the Santa Clara Women’s Rookie of the Year for her amazing speed, ability to grab anything thrown to her and her relentless pursuit of growth and learning on the field.

The next year, she became the offensive line MVP after improving her already lethal cutting skills. By the time she became a captain her senior year, she had perfected laying out and improved as an incredible handler defender with numerous hand blocks and foot blocks in every tournament. She had a relentless shutdown defense and would sky anyone going deep or layout for that disc. An incredibly reliable handler, Carolyn perfected the hammer and scoober, and she could put the disc anywhere she wanted to on the field.

Off the field, she is even a better teammate. Carolyn is always there to motivate the team to be better and lead by example. You can see her supporting rookies by teaching them, engaging them and making them feel part of the family that is Santa Clara Ultimate. Carolyn has demonstrated herself to be the heart and soul of Santa Clara Rage by her determination, grit and love for her teammates.
