Jenny Wei

Biography

Jenny Wei (JWei) was a three-sport varsity athlete in high school and played ultimate for the first time during her first year at the University of North Carolina (UNC). Her athleticism, determination to excel and relentless energy combined to help her skyrocket, going from, “I can’t throw a flick in games please cut dump for me immediately!!” to USAU’s All-Freshmen Team in one short season. Her on-field accolades cover the spectrum, from making Phoenix (North Carolina’s elite women’s club team) after just one year on Pleiades, to playing on the All-Star Tour, to winning gold in Perth with the U.S. U-24 Women’s National Team this summer. When not playing ultimate, JWei dedicates most of her time to assisting Triangle Ultimate in organization and coaching local youth, from Kitty Hawks (U-17 YCC) to CUT Camp to numerous high schools throughout the area. In addition to her tremendous influence on the bolstering youth of North Carolina, Jenny has been a catalyst for the explosive development of our college team and culture. She has high expectations for her teammates and acts on those expectations by always giving active feedback, positive encouragement and endless time and energy to us. She’s got the trifecta of athleticism, smarts and spirit that make her truly an iconic ultimate player. We’re so proud of her, grateful for the impact she’s made on our team and excited to invite the whole country to join the JWei hype train!
