Biography

Julia Kwasnick literally puts the fire in the Burning Skirts. Since her rookie year, she has brought an intensity and focus to every moment, whether it be a simple drill at practice or a tight game. Her raw athleticism, speed and willingness to never give up make her a prime leader on the UCSB women’s team. Julia has played a key role on the Skirts since her freshman year and has been a huge part of the success in re-building the program. Julia has an incredibly arsenal of throws and is a great deep cutter, but also she is a force to be reckoned with as a handler. To put it bluntly, Julia is an outstanding player and teammate, and she’s the type of person you don’t want to be guarding. The Burning Skirts feel that Julia is incredibly well-deserving of the Callahan Award because of her outstanding on-field talent, as well as her off-the field focus, drive and ability to foster community.
