Maddie Gilbert

Biography

Maddie Gilbert and ultimate go together like two peas in a pod. Maddie has been playing ultimate for 11 years on teams including Riot, Seattle Underground, Fryz, the U-24 U.S.A. Women’s National Team (2018),and the U-19 U.S.A. Women’s National Team (2014). An incredibly versatile player, Maddie is a force to be reckoned with on the field. Whether she is in a one-on-one match up, sneaking through a zone or jumping up in a pile of people, Maddie stands out. She is an incredibly technical player, with heads-up defense and an athleticism that shows in her awareness of her own body and abilities.

However, the thing that really sets Maddie apart (despite her ridiculously common layout Ds) is her humble and supportive nature. She embodies trust, constantly leading by example and hyping up her teammates. Every moment she spends on the field, she is playing for the people around her. She captains Chaos with confidence and insight from many years of experience, pushing us all to be the best we can be. Her constant drive to get better and love of the game make Maddie a player deserving of the Callahan Award. Love. Trust. Grit. Chaos.
