Liz Barnes

Biography

Liz helped revive the UTC Women’s College Ultimate team (Moxie) in 2014 after starting on the men’s team for the majority of the year. She has also played on the mixed (Nooga by Nature, 2015) and women’s club level (Encore, 2016-2017). Most recently, she has stepped into the role of captain on the inaugural Nashville Nightshade semi-professional women’s team. Liz has played every role on Moxie, from center handler, to initiating cutter and even to deep deep at a staggering height of 5’1″. She helped take the team to two tournament victories this past season, as well as the program’s best performance at conferences since its start. Liz does all of that while being the team’s dance captain and maintaining spirit of the game. Liz has been a pivotal part of Nashville Nightshade’s defensive line, playing both handler and cutter roles seamlessly. From layouts to skies, she’s been responsible for big plays with shout-outs from the announcers. Liz has a long career of ultimate ahead of her and will no doubt continue to make Tennessee proud.
