D-I Women College Championships

2025

Location

Burlington, WA

Date

May 23-26, 2025

Winner

British Columbia

A new champion presented itself in the women’s division as the Thunderbirds from British Columbia claimed its second title in program history. Since its 2008 College Championship, British Columbia hadn’t returned to final but that all changed in 2025. The No. 1 overall seed in the tournament, the Thunderbirds went 3-1 to win the pool, defeating North Carolina on Universe, beating Pennsylvania and UC-San Diego handily, and dropping the final game to Cal Poly-SLO. The bracket was easy for the Canadian side, taking down No. 7 Oregon and No. 5 Vermont with little trouble. Coached by Edward Guo, Jonathan He, and Victoria Lam, British Columbia faced off with No. 2 Carleton College and fell behind in the finals. However, Ella Bolan, Mika Kurahashi and Amelie Marshall showed out down the stretch for a come-from-behind victory and a first-place finish. The crown heads to Canada for the first time since 2008.
