Thunderbirds

Team Biography

Founded in 1997, the UBC Thunderbirds have competed annually in the USAU College Series and hold a National Championship title from 2008. A high level of achievement has been maintained over the years, with a 5th place finish in 2016 and 3rd place finish in 2015 and 2017.
UBC leads their country in the growth of elite college women’s Ultimate – steadily fed by an endless flow of young talent from junior programs all over Canada, and led by returners who have dedicated themselves to the team for years. The team is consistently ranked among the top teams in North America, with many T-birds having years of high level Provincial or National experience, as well as strong representation on Canadian U20/U24 WJUC teams. Beyond that, UBC’s distinguished alumni have competed at the highest level on the world stage for the Canadian World Games team, including current coaches Candice Chan, and Catherine Hui.
With such history and depth, UBC is dedicated to strive for more as a team and will always by guided by their mantra, “happy never satisfied.”
